Categories organize products into a customer-friendly hierarchy.

Product categories are managed through TruCommerce’s product-classification structure rather than a separate standalone category screen in this build.
Product Categories form the main customer-facing hierarchy of the catalogue. They are best for durable departments/collections that customers browse, while Tags are looser cross-cutting labels and Attributes describe product characteristics/options.
Products provide the actual catalogue content. Storefront layouts/widgets determine how category browsing is presented.
Reparenting or deleting a category changes how products are discovered but does not change their price/stock. Review assigned products before deleting a category.
Open Products → Categories.
Categories are the primary browsing structure for the catalog. Keep the hierarchy understandable and broad enough for customers to browse. Before deleting/deactivating one, decide where its Products should appear so they do not become harder to discover.
Use the tables below when you need the exact meaning of a field, column, filter or action. Read the workflow and dependency sections above first so each option is used in the right context.
