Shipping Methods

Shipping Methods are the delivery choices TruCommerce can offer at checkout.

TruCommerce shipping methods list

Shipping Methods turn destination zones and delivery rules into options that qualifying customers can receive at checkout.

What this feature is for

Shipping Methods are the delivery choices TruCommerce can offer for a cart. Their availability is a combination of the method’s own status/configuration, assigned shipping Zones, the customer shipping address and any other method conditions exposed by the form.

If “Hide shipping until address” is enabled in Store Settings, customers should not expect final shipping choices before they have entered a usable destination.

A practical way to use it

  1. Create shipping-scope Zones for the destinations you serve.
  2. Create Carriers when you want reusable provider identities.
  3. Create each Shipping Method, set its cost/configuration and assign the Zones it serves.
  4. Leave Zones empty only when the method is intentionally unrestricted by zone.
  5. Test at least one address inside and outside every important zone, including a cart that should not qualify.

How it connects to other features

Shipping Zones and the customer address determine geographic eligibility. Store Settings control whether shipping stays hidden until an address is known. Product physical/virtual state, weight/dimensions and shipping classification can affect whether shipping is required/calculated.

What to expect after changes

Changing a method’s zones or price can immediately change checkout options/totals. Disabling a method affects new checkouts but does not rewrite the shipping choice stored on existing orders.

Where to find it

Open TruCommerce → Shipping Methods.

How Shipping Methods become available

A Shipping Method needs to be active and its destination/rate rules must match the customer/order. Global Shipping locations can restrict shipping before the method is considered. Zones define geography; Carriers supply shared provider configuration; product Shipping Category/dimensions can further affect applicability.
