Booking Notifications

Notification Templates define the messages Booking sends for particular events and channels.

Booking notifications management screen

Booking Notifications controls the messages used around appointment events and customer/provider communication.

What this feature is for

Notification Templates control the messages Booking sends when supported booking events occur. They let administrators change customer/staff wording without changing the underlying appointment workflow.

A practical way to use it

  1. Make sure core Mail settings can successfully send email before relying on Booking templates.
  2. Identify the Booking event and recipient/channel the template is intended for.
  3. Edit subject/body and use only the variables/placeholders supported by that template.
  4. Trigger the event with a safe test appointment and confirm the delivered result.
  5. Keep customer-facing wording consistent with your actual cancellation/refund/payment policies.

How it connects to other features

Core Mail settings are the delivery foundation. Appointment events determine when templates are used; external notification integrations may require their own credentials/settings.

What to expect after changes

A wording change can affect every future message for that event. A template cannot make an event happen; if no notification is sent, first confirm the booking event occurred and mail delivery is working.

Where to find it

Open Booking Tools → Notifications.

How notification templates fit the lifecycle

Templates are triggered by Booking events and can use placeholders for booking/customer/refund details. Configure the global email/SMS destinations/provider in Booking Settings first, then edit the template wording/channel. Test a real event so you confirm both delivery and placeholder output.
