Control whether the public application is placed into maintenance mode and the related visitor experience.

Maintenance settings are used when the public application needs to be temporarily placed into a maintenance state.
Maintenance Mode is for planned work when the public site should temporarily stop serving its normal pages. It is useful during changes that could leave customers seeing an incomplete experience, particularly around checkout, bookings, site-wide configuration or major content updates.
When enabled, normal visitors are presented with the maintenance experience and the message you configure instead of the normal application. TruCMS also provides an access-token mechanism so an authorized person can reach the site while maintenance mode remains active.
| Setting | How to use it | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Enable Maintenance Mode | Turn on only for the period in which the public application should be unavailable. | Activates the maintenance experience. |
| Access Token | Choose a private token and keep the generated access URL private. | Allows authorized access while maintenance mode is active. |
| Message | Write a short visitor-friendly explanation. | Shown to visitors during maintenance. |
Remember active customer workflows
Enabling maintenance mode affects public access. Avoid switching it on casually while customers may be paying, checking out or completing bookings.
Maintenance Mode is recommended when a TruCMS update requires manual file replacement or when a busy production site should not accept new bookings, orders, or payments during the update window. Enable it after confirming you have a working backup, perform the update, test the site, and then disable Maintenance Mode when normal customer access is safe.
See Updating TruCMS for the complete automatic and manual update workflows.
