First Admin Login

Your site is installed. This page walks you through your first sign-in and a sensible first-day checklist, from securing your account to choosing a design.

The administrator sign-in page

The admin sign-in page, at /admin/login.

Signing in for the first time

  1. On the installer’s completion screen choose Login to Administration. Later, go to https://your-site.com/admin/login.
  2. Enter the email address and password you chose in Step 3.
  3. You arrive at the Dashboard.

If you forget the password, use Forgot password on the sign-in page; the reset email needs working mail settings.

First-day checklist

Work from the whole site down to details: site-wide settings first, then design, then content.

Start from a template

It is much quicker to import a website template and edit it than to build every page from nothing. Importing in keep mode adds the template next to your existing content; replace mode swaps your content for the template’s.

What you will see

The sidebar lists the CMS features and the plugins that are active; see the Admin Panel Overview. The header offers Visit Site, Profile, Change Password, Two-Factor Authentication and Sign Out under your picture. The menus you see depend on your role.

Build from global to specific

Set site-wide defaults first, then module defaults, then individual pages, services, products and payment methods. This avoids conflicting settings and makes problems easier to trace.

If a menu is missing

Do not assume the feature is missing: menus follow permissions. Check the plugin is active and your role includes the permission (see Roles & Permissions).
