TruCMS System Requirements

Server checks performed by the built-in TruCMS installer.

Why these requirements matter

TruCMS checks the server before installation because missing PHP features or unwritable working folders can cause failures later when uploading media, sending requests to external services, processing images, or writing cached application data. It is much easier to correct the hosting environment before entering your database and administrator details.

Server requirements

DatabaseA MySQL/MariaDB-compatible database and accountThe installer asks for host, port, database name, username and password during Application Setup.

Check before uploading customer data

If you are using managed hosting, send this list to the hosting provider before installation. Ask them to confirm both the PHP version and extensions for the actual domain, because the command-line PHP version can differ from the web-server version.

What the installer does with this information

Installer Step 1 presents the checks as pass/fail items. A failed item is not a content or account problem; it means the hosting environment still needs attention. Correct the server setting, reload the requirements step, and continue only after the required checks pass.

Next step

Once the hosting environment meets these requirements, continue with Preparing Your Server to configure the domain, HTTPS, document root and permissions.
