POS Registers represent the checkout stations used for in-person sales.

POS Registers identify the configured point-of-sale stations used by the in-person selling workflow.
POS Registers represent the checkout stations/context used for in-person sales. Define registers before opening the POS so staff transactions can be associated with the intended station.
Store Settings control whether POS is enabled and whether partial POS payments are allowed. Products must be available to POS where that option exists. Payments still use the payment capabilities configured for the POS workflow.
Disabling a register can interrupt a staff checkout workflow. Keep register naming stable enough that staff can reconcile sales to the correct station.

A register represents a point-of-sale workstation/context. Create and activate the register before staff use POS, then keep register identity consistent for reporting and daily operations. Global POS enable/receipt/partial-payment behavior is configured in Store Settings.
