Channels define distinct selling contexts and can connect that context to geographic Billing/Shipping Zones.

Sales Channels separate store contexts when catalog, currency, geography or other commerce rules need to differ.
Sales Channels let TruCommerce represent distinct selling contexts with their own availability/geographic associations. Use a channel when the business genuinely has more than one selling context—not simply as another product category.
Channels can reference commerce geography. Products/orders may carry channel context where supported. Payment availability still comes through TruPayments rather than from the channel record itself.
Changing channel geography or status can make a selling context unavailable to customers/operations that rely on it. Review dependent catalog/order workflows before disabling a live channel.

A Channel defines a selling context and can reference a Billing Zone and Shipping Zone. Use it when the store needs a named channel with its own geographic context. Keep in mind that TruCommerce zones belong to commerce rules; TruPayments Billing Zones are a separate payment-method restriction system.
