Countries & Provinces are the geographic reference data used by TruCommerce address, zone, shipping and tax configuration.

Countries and provinces supply the geography used by zones, addresses, tax and shipping decisions.
Countries & Provinces are the geographic reference records TruCommerce uses when administrators build Zones and when checkout interprets customer addresses. They are foundational data, not shipping methods or tax rates by themselves.
Zones reference Countries/Provinces. Shipping and tax calculations then reference those Zones. TruPayments Billing Zones are separate and should not be substituted for commerce geography.
Changing or removing geography that is already used by Zones can change checkout matching. Treat these records as shared reference data and review dependent Zones before editing them.

This geographic reference data is reused by address- and zone-based commerce rules. Keep country/province definitions consistent before building Zones, Tax Rates or Shipping Methods so the same customer address resolves predictably across checkout calculations.
