Customer Groups segment Booking customers and can apply a shared discount rule. They are best for stable business categories such as members, corporate customers or another repeat segment—not for a one-time promotion, which is better handled by a Coupon.
The group only affects customers assigned to it. Coupons are a separate code-based discount mechanism, and taxes/payment calculations occur later in the booking total flow.
Changing a group discount can affect future bookings for every member. Keep group eligibility consistent so staff can explain why two customers may receive different totals.
