Transactions & Refund History

Transactions are the payment records created when TruCMS or another module asks TruPayments to collect or record money.

TruPayments transactions list

Transactions provides the audit trail for payment attempts, statuses and later refund-related history.

What this feature is for

A Transaction is the financial record created when another part of TruCMS asks TruPayments to collect, authorize, record or refund money. Use this page to answer questions such as “did the gateway accept the payment?”, “how much has been refunded?”, and “what happened to this payment over time?”.

The transaction’s current status is a summary. The history is what explains the journey—payment attempts, status changes and refund entries can coexist on the same transaction.

A practical way to use it

  1. Find the transaction from its reference, customer/module context, amount or status.
  2. Open the detail before taking action; compare the transaction amount, paid amount, refunded amount and current status.
  3. Read the transaction history in chronological order to understand how the current state was reached.
  4. For a Booking refund, complete the Booking refund-request workflow rather than manually changing a payment status.
  5. After a refund is approved/processed, confirm both the updated transaction status and the refund amount/history entry.

How it connects to other features

Booking refund requests can cause TruPayments to create refund activity when approved. TruCommerce order/refund/payment flows likewise reference TruPayments transactions. Gateway webhooks can update transaction state after the customer leaves the checkout screen.

What to expect after changes

Financial status should reflect what actually happened at the gateway or manual payment process. Do not use a status edit as a substitute for sending/refunding money. A partially refunded transaction remains a valid original transaction with a recorded refunded amount rather than becoming a new unrelated payment.

Where to find it

Open TruPayments → Transactions.

Reading the transaction list

Use the list for reconciliation and troubleshooting: identify the customer/context, amount/currency, payment method/gateway, and current transaction state. Open the transaction detail/history before retrying business actions elsewhere; a Booking or Order status does not replace the payment record.

Field and action reference

Use the tables below when you need the exact meaning of a field, column, filter or action. Read the workflow and dependency sections above first so each option is used in the right context.
