A user account is a person’s sign-in to your site. Staff use accounts to reach the admin panel; customers use them to book, shop, open support tickets and manage their own details. Roles decide what each account may do.

Users → Manage Users. The list shows each person’s role, whether their email is verified and whether the account is active.
| Source | What happens |
|---|---|
| You create them | Staff, providers and anyone else you want to give access to: Users → Manage Users → Create New. |
| Visitors register | When registration is on, visitors create their own account at /register (or with a social login). New accounts receive the role chosen in Settings → General (Default User Role). See Visitor Accounts & My Account. |
| Booking and TruCommerce | Customers and providers of these modules are users too. Providers are created from Staff & Availability. Both appear in this list. |
| Website templates | Importing a website template together with its demo data can add sample staff and customers with the matching roles. Remove them before going live. |
| Column / control | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Search | Finds users by name, username or email. |
| # and Name | The account number, picture, name and email. |
| Role | The role or roles of the account. This decides what the person can do. See Roles & Permissions. |
| Verified | Yes when the email address is confirmed. |
| Added Date and status | When the account was created, with an Active or Inactive badge. Click the badge to switch the account on or off. |
| Actions (…) | Edit, Send to trash and Delete permanently. |

Users → Create New. Details and password on the left; status, roles and picture on the right.
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Name | The person’s display name. Required. |
| Username | A unique handle starting with @. Required. |
| E-Mail Address | Must be valid and unique. It is the person’s sign-in name and where TruCMS sends notifications. |
| About | An optional short biography (up to 500 characters). |
| Password / Confirm Password | At least 8 characters. Use the eye button to reveal what you type and Generate to create a strong password. When editing, leave empty to keep the current password. |
| Active | Inactive users cannot sign in. Use this to suspend an account without deleting its history. |
| Email verified | Marks the email address as confirmed, so the person does not have to click a verification link. |
| Roles | One or more roles. The list shows each role with its description. Without a role the person can sign in but sees nothing in the admin panel. |
| Profile Picture | JPG, PNG or GIF up to 2 MB. Shown in the admin panel, in comments and in the account area. |

Editing an existing user. The Joined and Last updated dates are shown at the top.
Give the least access that works
Choose a role that matches the job. A receptionist needs the Booking roles, not Super Admin. You can always add a role later.

Users → Trashed Users holds accounts that were sent to the trash.
Instead of editing users one by one, open Users → Roles, select the role and use Assign Role to tick several people at once. See Roles & Permissions.
| Feature | Link to users |
|---|---|
| Booking staff | A provider is a user with the booking-provider role plus a provider profile (services, hours, locations). |
| Booking customers and TruCommerce customers | Customers are users with the booking-customer role and a customer record. |
| Support tickets | Tickets belong to the user who opened them. |
| Blog posts | A post’s author is a user. |
Managing users is controlled by the Users group in Roles & Permissions (view, create, edit and delete). Give it only to people you trust with account access.
| Symptom | What to do |
|---|---|
| A person cannot sign in | Check the account is Active, the email is correct, and (if registration requires it) the email is verified. Reset the password from the edit screen if needed. |
| A person signs in but sees an empty admin panel | The account has no role, or the role has no permissions. Assign a role. |
| A new customer was not given the expected role | Check Default User Role in Settings → General. |
| I deleted someone by mistake | If you used Send to trash, restore them from Trashed Users. A permanent delete cannot be undone. |
