Admin Panel Overview

The administration panel is where you run your site: content, appearance, people, settings, bookings, shop and payments. This page is a map of the sidebar, so you know where to find each feature in this documentation.

Finding your way

The sidebar is grouped by responsibility. Core TruCMS entries are always there; the entries of installed plugins (Booking, TruCommerce, TruPayments) appear once the plugin is active. A person sees only the entries their role allows, so an administrator and a receptionist see different menus.

Menu items are grouped, not nested

Click a group heading (for example Pages) to expand it. The group of the page you are on stays open, and the current entry is highlighted.

BreadcrumbsThe trail under the header (Home / Dashboard / Pages…) shows where you are and lets you step back.

Working with lists

Most screens follow the same pattern, so once you know one you know them all:

ElementHow it works
Search boxAbove the list. Type a word and press Enter or the search button.
Create NewThe button at the top right of a list opens the creation form.
Status badgesGreen Active/Published, red or grey for off. Many badges can be clicked to switch the status.
Row actionsIcons or a … menu at the end of each row: view, settings, edit and delete. Delete always asks you to confirm.
PaginationNumbers at the bottom. The number of rows per page is set in Settings → General (Admin pagination).
MessagesA green confirmation or red error appears at the top after you save or delete.

Why a colleague sees a different menu

Menus and buttons are hidden when the person’s role does not include the matching permission, and the Super Admin role sees everything. If you cannot find a feature that this documentation describes, first check that the plugin is active in Plugins and that your role has the permission (see Roles & Permissions).
