A practical guide to installing, configuring and running TruCMS as a website owner, administrator, staff member or provider.
If you are installing TruCMS for the first time, follow the guide in order through Getting Started → Installation → First Admin Login. The first-day checklist there leads you from your first sign-in to a finished-looking site.
Fastest way to a good-looking site
Import a website template for your kind of business. It creates pages, menus, colours, header and footer, sample content and (for Booking and shop businesses) demo data in a few minutes. Then replace the text and pictures with your own.
Website Templates — Import a complete site for your business, with demo data, and export your own.
Page Builder — Design pages visually with sections, blocks and the Template Library.
Dynamic Blocks — Live blocks for blog posts, advertisements, forms, Booking and shop content.
Theme Options — Colours, fonts, header, top bar, footer and more.
Menus — Build menus, mega menus and assign them to the header and footer.
Blog — Write posts, organise them, feature the best, and let readers comment.
Users & Roles — Accounts, roles and the permission matrix.
Visitor Accounts — Registration, sign-in and the My Account area.
Support Tickets — Help your customers with tracked conversations.
Languages — Translate the interface and your content.
TruPayments — Payment methods, billing zones, gateways, transactions and refunds shared by other modules.
Booking — Services, staff availability, booking forms, five frontend designs, appointments, payments and refunds.
TruCommerce — Catalogue, stock, storefront designs, checkout, orders, point of sale and customer accounts.
Software maintenance is separate from day-to-day work. Before installing any update or patch, create a recoverable backup of the application files and database.
Updating TruCMS — Dashboard updates, manual updates, the required update step, backups and recovery.
Patches — How official patches are shown, applied in order and tested.
What’s New — The newest features and where they are documented.
Use the search box when you know the name of a feature or field. When something does not work, start with the FAQ — it lists the possible causes of common problems in the order to check them — and then the FAQ of the plugin you use: Booking, Store, Payments. Each article also has a Troubleshooting table and links to related features.
